Workshop with Perry Kulper

This is my first workshop at The Bartlett with Perry Kulper (University of Michigan). He gave us 4 methods, which are Analogic, Gestural Translation, Syntactical and Appropriation. The workshop took 4 days from 05 Oct 2009 to 08 Oct 2009 working in a small group (Ju Byung, MaryAnn and Me.) Our group proposed a motel by manipulating of Syntactical Method on a site near the ship breaking area from the Photograph of Edward Burtynsky.
Syntactical "... Here, developing a syntax, or grammar...normally rule based, formally driven and internally structured...often attempts to 'hide' the author' and is difficult to know when you're 'finished', esp. as an architectural methodology.
The motel is constructed by syntactical robots proceed from the rule of √2. The robots break off some existing materials from the broken ships and reassemble a new structure of the motel.
